Furano Ski Resort--Season Passes
The summer heat has gone, and that means ski season is just around the corner. True, we have to pass through autumn, a mere enjoyable technicality known as "Prep Time" in my house!
With ski season coming, it's time to obtain what every ski nut usually has: THE SEASON PASS!
For those planning to ski more than 8 days at the Furano Ski Resort, the "Super Early Bird" pass is a no-brainer. Just 73,000 yen, and you're good to go. Only 57,000 yen for those 60 & above. Wow, what a deal!
Unfortunately, the resort does not offer online purchases. Applications may be submitted by mail, but must contain cash (you can actually mail cash in Japan in special envelopes!). Those buying at the resort have the option of paying by credit card. Repeat long-stay visitors make arrangements at the end of their stay, leaving enough funds with a trusted Japan contact to buy their Super Early Bird passes in September.

Super Early Bird (9/18-25) Adult 73,000 yen Senior 57,000 yen
Early Bird (10/1-16) Adult 76,000 yen Senior 59,000 yen
Regular Season (11/14--) Adult 98,000 yen Senior 75,000 yen
There are also prices listed for junior and high school students. Kids up to 12 still ski free, but you can get a season pass for them (so you don't have to go to the ticket counter) for only a 3,000 yen processing fee. Great collector's item.
