Melons, potatoe, corn, asparagus, berries can all be harvested by you and tasted at some farms. Enjoy the succulent taste of fresh seasonal vegetables and fruit.

At the winery, wine tasting can be enjoyed. There are also displays of Etiquette prints, and the wine making process. At the Cheese Factory there is tasting and ice-cream making as well.

Many artists, photographers and potters build studios in Furano and continue to create masterpieces. Visit the museums and galleries to see photos, paintings, pottery and glass art.

Furano is famous for being a filming location for many dramas by playwrite So Kuramoto such as [Kitano Kunikara], [Yasashii Jikan], and [Kazeno Garden ]. Many of the locations are preserved just the way they were in the dramas.

Festivals are a well-known part of Japanese culture, offering tourists a peak at the traditions of local towns and their people. The Furano- Biei area is no exception, with various festivals held throughout the year.

In Furano you can view many spots that boast beautiful, bountiful flowers, not to mention the famous lavender. Along Route 237, which has been named [Hanabito Kaido], field after field of colorful blooming flowers are crowded together.

All the flowers which are harvested become dried or pressed flowers, fit for souvenirs. There are some facilities which offer hand craft classes. Shops related to gardening are also introduced.

One of the most popular and satisfying activities among visitors is the cooking experience. Why not come and create a taste you will never forget? Choose from jam, ice-cream, sausage or cheese making.

There are also many craft studios in Furano with a rich menu of craft-making. Choose from pottery, glass crafts, other crafts, accessories, candle making, dying, weaving, felt craft and much more to create your original craft.

Here you can enjoy the experience of harvesting potatoes and asparagus, while you roll up your sleeves and get dirty. Berry picking and harvesting lavender is something that can be enjoyed by small children too. Get in touch with the value of life and food through an agricultural experience.

The Furano Nature School (Furano Shizen Juku) is managed by the playwrite So Kuramoto, and stands on a former golf course. The original intention was to turn the land back into lush forests and woods. Besides planting seedlings, you can enjoy various experience programs based on the key words [Earth] and [Sense].

A variety of programs is offered here such as aroma therapy, massages, a work shop on acting, provided by the actors and actresses of the Furano Juku.
